Talking about growth drivers for the lighting segment, Rafi believes that rapidly increasing application of LED-based lighting is paving the way for growth of the market in India. According to him, solid state lighting technology has opened up numerous opportunities by enabling compact and customized lighting solutions, which were not possible using conventional light sources like incandescent bulbs and CFLs. ALS has recently set up an assembling unit in IP Industrial Area in Delhi with an investment of Rs.30 lakh. "The unit is equipped with hi-tech machines and cutting edge technology that assist in producing our latest range of products as per clients' specifications, that too within the stipulated time." He further informs that the company has a competent engineering team, which is supported with latest design software and equipment. "We are in regular liaison with leading optic and driver manufacturers, who provide their technical help as and when required."
ALS manufactures a gamut of lighting products used in gardens, streets, commercial buildings, residential complexes, etc. "In garden lights alone we have as many as 900 variants. All our products carry a three year warranty, which no other manufactureris giving at present. We use LED chips from Osram and Edison Opto, and lenses from LED Link, while PCBs and drivers are sourced from Indian makers" adds Rafi.
