Classic Marble Company (CMC) in collaboration with the Institute of Indian Interior Designers (IIID) and Talati & Partners LLP (TPA) hosted an event to honour and celebrate the remarkable legacy of visionary architect - Noshir Talati. The event was organized in Mumbai on August 3rd and was aptly titled ‘UNDesign – Decoding the art of Supremacy’.

The event recounted the journey of Ar. Noshir Talati, celebrating his exceptional contributions to the field and acknowledging his profound influence on generations of architects and design enthusiasts. Distinguished guests, including Member of Parliament Shri Praful Patel, graced the occasion. The assembly of architects and interior designers included Ar. Rumy Shroff, Ar. Naushir Divetre, Ar. Khurshed Vazir, Ar. Zarir Mullan, and Ar. Hafeez Contractor, among others. Shri Praful Patel expressed, “Noshir’s unwavering commitment to fostering innovation and nurturing emerging talent has made an enduring impact on the architectural community. His influential presence serves as an inspiration igniting passion within countless individuals.”

During the event, Ar. Noshir Talati was bestowed with the esteemed National Design Excellence Award by IIID, and a self-portrait bust crafted by CMC that immortalized his likeness in marble.

The event also showcased Ar. Noshir Talati’s iconic projects and highlighted the profound impact of TPA’s brand ethos. A captivating exchange between Xerxes Talati, Owner of TPA and Amit Shah, MD of CMC unveiled some of the lesser-known facets of the architect’s life, enriching the audiences’ understanding of his creative journey. CMC’s Directors K.M. Swamy and Ramakrishna Swamy were also present at the occasion.

The event provided a platform for architects and the public to engage with the artistry of one of the most revered architects of our time. It aimed to deepen the appreciation for architectural excellence, stimulate innovation, and ensure that his architectural legacy continues to shape the realm of design.

Ar. Noshir Talati’s distinctive body of work is characterized by its elegant simplicity and meticulous attention to detail. His portfolio includes iconic projects such as the minimalist Ceejay House, the environmentally conscious India’s first green residential tower, and the breathtaking Oberoi hotel in Mumbai, renowned for its exquisite design and panoramic views of the Arabian Sea. Among his other notable achievements are the Cadbury House and Benreza Terraces in Mumbai, each adding to his illustrious legacy.
