PVC single ply membrane marketed under the name of "Vinitex" is Texsa's new addition to the waterproofing product range in India. PVC (Polyvinyl chloride) roof membrane has the longest track record of any thermoplastic membrane with the first PVC - based systems installed in Europe in early 1960.
Reinforced PVC roof membranes have many important attributes that compliment their proven track record and have spurned additional growth. Besides the important feature of heat welded seam technology, PVC roof membranes offer many other inherent features as under : -
- a comprehensive history of product testing
- an ability to make a spectrum of colors including reflective white
- high resistance to puncture and impact
- good low temperature flexibility and high temperature tolerance
- an excellent resistance to flame exposure and subsequent fire propagation
- resistance to microbiological attack
Vinyl roof membranes are aesthetically appealing and they provide an excellent visual feedback of workmanship for the applicator during and after installation. Vinyl membranes were the first single ply roof products to obtain a standard designation, D4434 from ASTM.
PVC membranes are supplied with or without reinforcement and in various thickness depending on end use, attachment method etc.
Texsa offers special PVC membranes for waterproofing applications in swimming pools, tunnels, potable water tanks besides the standard grades. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, project is one example where Texsa's PVC membrane has been approved for waterproofing.
